Community volunteers

by | 2 May 2024 | Local Charity, Rotherham

Community volunteering is a wonderful way of not only giving something back to your community, but it can help to boost your skills and knowledge, increase your confidence, and provide you with the opportunity to meet and work with others.

The amazing volunteers at Rotherfed are responsible for how they shape their services and they could not do what they do without volunteers.

With National Volunteer’s Week coming up, from 3rd to 9th June, it’s the ideal time to get involved!

People can volunteer to become:

  • Trustees – lead the charity.
  • Tenant representatives – provide a tenant voice at formal and informal meetings such as at the Housing Involvement Panel and Tenant Scrutiny panel or tenant connectors pool with Rotherham Council.
  • Group leaders – be supported to deliver activities.
  • Project champions – support the charity’s projects.
  • Call to action heroes – offer time on an ad-hoc basis, ie community litter picks, one-off event support, sharing information.

If you are over 18 years old and interested in volunteering, please get in touch. Training and support is given for each role. For more information, email info@rotherfed.org or call 01709 368515.
