Can you help 13-year-old Matilda Mount from Bramley as she fundraises for an expedition to Cambodia in 2025? For four weeks she will live alongside local communities, learning about traditional culture and fascinating history whilst sampling the traditional local cuisines. The core objectives of this expedition are to undertake projects to raise the educational and living standards of developing communities within a rural district of Cambodia, including building wells to provide drinking water and building toilets to enable every household in the community to have their own facilities.
Matilda will also help to support a local primary school through projects refurbishing and extending their classrooms and constructing a library. She said: “This expedition is extremely important to me because I feel that I will acquire and develop many important life skills, such as travelling independently, making a difference in the community and gaining a new perspective on the world.”
On Friday 8th December she is hosting a fashion show and shopping event with ‘SOS Charity Fashion Shows’ at The Wesley Centre in Maltby. On the evening, clothes will be available to buy at up to 75% off, with brands such as Dorothy Perkins, White Stuff, River Island, Next, Evans, New Look, Miss Selfridge, Topshop, Wallis, Urban Outfitters, Warehouse, Monsoon and more. There will also be stalls and a licensed bar. Tickets are £6.00 each and available by calling or texting 07494 582591.
