Braving the shave

Hellaby Parish Councillor and Winthrop volunteer, Maggie Peart has ‘Braved the Shave’ to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Said Maggie: “Having spent most of June supporting my daughter through her husband’s final weeks, I was able to see first-hand the very positive work of Macmillan. Through their amazing work my son-in-law was able to spend his final days where he wished to be – at home. As a family we will be forever grateful and on behalf of the family, I am doing my bit to raise funds for Macmillan by ‘braving the shave’!“
Macmillan say that since 2015 their ‘Brave Shavers’ have raised over £22.7 million. This incredible amount could pay for 140 Macmillan nurses for three years. Supporting a ‘shaver’ is a real opportunity to be part of something amazing and help keep this much appreciated service going after what has been a challenging couple of years.
“I was never going to do this for just £50 or so which is why I’m so delighted by donations via bravetheshave.macmillan.org.uk/shavers/margaret-peart. Can you help me get to £1,500?”
