Bramley Brass Band, along with the choirs of Northfield Lane Junior School, Ravenfield Primary Academy and Tickhill Estfelt School, supported the recent charity concert ‘A Celebration of Brass and Young Voices’.
Organised by the Rotary Club of Doncaster St Leger in aid of Firefly Cancer Awareness and Support, who provide free transport to local cancer patients and their families in the borough of Doncaster to regional hospitals, the concert raised £2,200. Over the last nine months a total of just over £5,500 has been raised for different charities.
Bramley Brass Beginner Band took part in the Don Valley Music Festival on Friday 23rd March, winning the under-12 instrumental ensemble class! Two band members took part in solo classes: Joseph Porritt won his class playing cornet and Thomas Porritt won his class playing two instruments – drums and euphonium.
