The Yorkshire Air Ambulance has had a great lift thanks to the efforts of the community in Bramley, following the Dry Land Regatta. The ever-popular, free event raised £3,000 for this worthy cause and organisers agreed that this year the Yorkshire Air Ambulance would be supported.
President of the Bramley and Wickersley Lions Club, who co-ordinated the event, Susan Drayson said: “Supporting this charity is important to local people and is at the heart of what we do as Lions. Putting on the free event for the community and helping others is central to what Lions are all about. Anyone can be a Lion, we are always looking at other ways to support our community and would like people to suggest ways we can help.”
The club meets on the first and third Wednesday of the month in Bramley Social Club at 7.30pm. For further details visit www.bwlions.org.uk or find them on Facebook.
