Do you have a warm smile, a friendly nature and a few hours to spare each week? Rotherham Hospital and Community Charity are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join their Book and Merchandise Stall team, based in the entrance of Rotherham Hospital.
Their vibrant stall sells books and gifts and all funds raised will support vital projects that help enhance patient care, staff wellbeing and community services across the Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust.
Why volunteer?
Volunteering just one day a week (from 10.00am to 3.00pm — flexible days available), can make a big impact. By joining the stall team, you’ll be:
- Greeting visitors with a kind word and friendly face
- Handling sales using both cash and card
- Keeping the stall stocked and inviting
- Sharing information about the charity’s work and inspiring people to get involved!
It’s a rewarding role where you’ll meet new people, learn new skills and know that you’re helping to do something worthwhile in your community.
Meet Pat – One of the charity’s volunteers
Pat has been volunteering for Rotherham Hospital and Community Charity since 2017, and has become a familiar and much-loved face to patients, visitors and staff. Pat holds a stall in the hospital entrance every Wednesday and said: “I love chatting with people and knowing I’m doing something good for the hospital. The charity team is so supportive, and it really feels like we’re making a difference.”
Like Pat, many volunteers say the role brings a sense of purpose and joy – and the charity are incredibly grateful for their ongoing dedication.
No experience? No problem!
The charity welcomes volunteers from all walks of life – no previous experience is needed, just a friendly attitude and a willingness to get involved. Full training and support will be provided.
