Voglia d’Italia (the Italian Society for South Yorks and North Notts) presents ‘Comes the Flood: Ruskin, Venice and MOSE’ at their next meeting. Anne Amison looks at Venice through the eyes of John Ruskin who commissioned many works of art, recording the architecture of Venice. He saw what was to come – that the city would soon be unrecognisable owing to the impact of environmental change and poor building conservation.
