Turning homelessness into hope at Shiloh – one event at a time

Skydivers, runners, hikers and campers are being sought by homeless charity Shiloh to raise essential funds for Rotherham’s homeless community. The charity has launched a new events calendar to inspire fundraisers of all ages to do something meaningful and uplifting. Highlights include two tandem skydives on 25th April and 20th September 2026, a Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge on 16th May 2026 and a Snowdon For Sunrise trek on 20th May 2026.

Runners are also being sought to represent Shiloh at some of South Yorkshire’s most popular events, including the Sheffield 10K on 27th September 2026 and the Rotherham 10K, once this year’s date is announced. Sarah Smart, CEO at Shiloh, said: “This is a really exciting moment for Shiloh as we launch an official fundraising calendar of events for the first time. We’re working with expert partners at Elite Adventures and Skydive Hibaldstow, so participants will be in expert hands throughout our hiking and skydiving challenges. The Run For All events are iconic dates in the Steel City’s fundraising calendar already and we can’t wait to see our fundraisers join the incredible crowd of runners.

“Homelessness is a national issue but at Shiloh, we support local people facing one of the toughest times in their lives. We’d love individuals, businesses, community and faith groups across Rotherham to get involved and help us make a real difference. “This is your chance to participate in a bucket-list style challenge which is personally fulfilling whilst also supporting people who need our care and compassion at a critical time in their own lives.”

Shiloh, based at Station Road in Rotherham, provides food, clothing, shower and laundry facilities, access to technology, intensive one-to-one support and wellbeing advice for adults who are homeless, or facing homelessness. The charity also connects people to partner agencies which can help them gain stability and independence – turning homelessness into hope.
