Two Magpies Beer Festival and President’s Party
The Two Magpies Beer Festival and President’s Party took place on Saturday 28th June at the home of Steve Burns. Attendees enjoyed a wonderful afternoon in glorious weather.
Rotary Children’s Fun Day at Coleridge School
Rotherham Sitwell Rotary Club once again supported the ‘Colour Dash’ at Coleridge Primary School by providing each child with a bubble wand, which added greatly to the fun. For those unfamiliar, a Colour Dash involves running through an obstacle course while being doused with coloured powders at every opportunity.
The event, held at the end of the academic year, not only saw the children thoroughly colour-dashed, but they also managed to get their own back on the teachers. Families attended in good numbers, with some even taking part. It’s safe to assume that washing machines in the area were kept busy that evening.
Coleridge School – Looking at Toys
The following week, Year 2 pupils from Coleridge Primary School visited Clifton Park Museum for a ‘Looking at Toys’ session. Organised by the Rotary Club’s Community Committee and part-funded by a District Grant, the day was led by the museum’s Heritage Learning team. While the children were given a tour of the exhibitions, the main focus was on toys from the past – a perfect complement to the history topics being covered in school.
Class teacher Jill commented, “A lovely day at Clifton Park Museum looking at Victorian toys. A huge thank you to Rotherham Sitwell Rotary Club.” The school and wider community remain deeply appreciative of the club’s ongoing support.
Rotherham Hockey Club
Rotherham Sitwell Rotary Club is proud to support Rotherham Hockey Club’s Schools’ Programme.The Club’s donation helped fund equipment that would otherwise have been out of reach. Congratulations are extended to Rotherham Hockey Club for the successful organisation of the Festival of Sports at Herringthorpe Playing Fields. The Club is delighted that its contribution supported over 300 children in taking part in the hockey activities throughout the day.
