Another Olympic year brings a lot of interest in taking up a sport, whether it be for the first time or coming back to one you have played before.
Have you considered hockey? At Rotherham Hockey Club this is an extremely popular team sport with lots of competitive spirit – but more importantly a friendly atmosphere and welcoming environment. The club is always looking for new players and would be delighted to have you on board!
A well-established club for 97 years and counting, they have matches weekly on Saturdays and several teams have been successfully promoted in their leagues last season. There are teams from Under 8 to Under 16 for youth players and an excellent senior section with three men’s teams and two ladies’ teams, with the likelihood of a third ladies’ team for the new season which starts in September.
Training sessions are on Sundays for youth and Thursdays for senior. The club is based at the Sheffield Hallam University Sports Park in Brinsworth.
