Herringthorpe United Reformed Church (HURC), next to the Stag Inn on Wickersley Road, hosts a wide range of children’s and youth activities, including a Parent and Toddler Group ‘Cheeky Chicks’ on a Monday morning, a weekly Kids Club (for those in school years 3 to 6), Youth Club (for those in years 7 to 11), as well as Scout and Guide groups.
For adults, their Community Chat meets on Saturday 8th February, 10.00am to 12.00pm, and is open to anyone who wants to join them for a free cuppa and a chat. On Sunday 16th February, 4.30pm to 6.00pm, their monthly Café Church meets. This is an informal ‘service’ for all ages where attendees sit around tables and unpack a Bible passage with activities, crafts and discussion. All are welcome – whether you’re just exploring faith, or a lifelong Christian.
The Memory Lane Café meets on 26th February, and the last Wednesday of every month, from 1.30pm to 3.30pm. ‘Memory Lane’ is a dementia-friendly café, but open to everyone, with free refreshments and musical entertainment provided by Lost Chord. Find out more about all of HURC’s activities at www.hurc.co.uk, or by searching for them on Facebook.
