Rotherfed is delighted to announce that they have been given another two years’ funding for the Energy Know How project, which means they can continue to offer help and support to the people of Rotherham until 2025.
For those not familiar with the project, its aim is to support Rotherham residents to reduce their energy usage and utility costs in their homes. A team of Energy Advisers delivers group and individual training, advice and support on energy awareness and efficiency through face-to-face sessions in community venues, and can support people remotely too.
There is no cost for this service, aimed at improving knowledge and awareness of home energy efficiency and helping people to switch providers, access energy saving measures and debt and benefit advice.
Local people can become volunteers and get involved to deliver energy-saving activities in their communities. In addition, the project also supports other local community service providers to be more energy aware.
Over the course of the project so far, Rotherfed has saved clients over £148,000! This includes savings such as: making clients aware of unclaimed benefits such as warm home discount; tips to better control their heating systems resulting in savings; compensation from complaints; free top up vouchers; and savings from insulation and changes in their usage habits.
