The North Wheatley History Group last met on Monday 15th September for a very interesting and evocative talk remembering some of the brave medal-winning awards and actions during the First World War. The group will hold its final meeting of the year on Monday 17th November at 10.00am, when Chris Hewis will give a talk titled Within Sight of the Gibbet.

From January next year, meetings will take place on the second Monday of each month. To begin the new year, Chris Hewis will return on Monday 12th January to give a talk about the development and history of Torksey-on-Trent. A full itinerary of events has already been booked for next year, and new members are always welcome to join. The History Group meets bi-monthly on the second Monday of the month at 10.00am in the Village Hall, South Wheatley. Refreshments are available.
