What’s on at St Saviour’s Church

St Saviour’s Church is the one at the top of the hill, up Moorgate and on the corner of Welham Road and Lidget Lane (DN22 6QW).

There are lots of exciting events happening throughout the year for children and adults, but here’s what’s happening in December. You are warmly invited to any or all of them.

Services

Sunday 4th, 4.00pm: Christingle
An all age celebration with special guests from St Swithun’s school. Refreshments.

Wednesdays, 10.30am: Communion
A contemplative service followed by coffee and chat.

Sunday 18th, 10.30am: Morning Worship
With Sunday Club for kids, followed by coffee and chat.

Sunday 18th, 7.00pm: Carols by Candlelight
With mince pies, mulled wine and hot drinks. Atmospheric and meaningful.

Saturday 24th, 3.00pm: Nativity
Come dressed as a Nativity character for a fun filled time. A great way to entertain the kids for an hour.

Saturday 24th, 11.15pm: Midnight Communion

Sunday 25th, 10.30am: Christmas service
All age celebration followed by optional short communion service.

Extra events

Tuesdays (term-time only), 3.45pm: Lego Club
Building, snacks, games and Bible stories for primary aged children and their grown-ups.

First Tuesday of every month, 2.00pm to 3.00pm: Grief Café
Have you lost someone you love and need a place to laugh or cry, talk or listen? To remember, be heard and accepted? Find a safe and welcoming place with here. Hot drinks and cake.

Wednesdays (term-time only), 1.30pm to 3.00pm: ABC Toddler Group
A group for under-fives and their adults with toys, craft, snacks, stories and songs.

Sunday 4th, 4.00pm: Church at 4
Songs, prayer, craft, Bible and food for adults and children who don’t do church. Contact rector@stsavioursretford.org.uk.

Friday 2nd, 7.30pm: Girls’ Night Out presents Songs and Carols by Candlelight
Ladies, start your Christmas here! Relax and enjoy mulled wine and hot drinks, turkey cobs and mince pies, entertainment and a quiz… all for £6.00. Booking essential. Ring Barbara on 07768 159844.

Saturday 3rd, 6.30pm: An Evening of Christmas Music
Classical favourites, mince pies and mulled wine. Featuring Sean Ruane and friends. Free entry with a retiring collection. Contributions for Bassetlaw Food Bank appreciated.
