Wesley Centre Live presents Phil Beer

Wesley Centre Live presents Phil Beer

Making a welcome return to the Wesley Centre in Maltby on Friday 16th October, is the award-winning musician, singer and composer Phil Beer.

With a professional career that started in the 1970s, Phil is best known as the founder of the acclaimed West Country acoustic duo Show of Hands.

He has also been a member of the Albion Band and toured with Mike Oldfield, Johnny Coppin and played sessions for acts as varied as Steve Harley, Jackie Oates, Pete Townsend and The Rolling Stones.

He has a great deal of material to draw on for his solo appearances, which are an eclectic mix of traditional tunes, covers of Springsteen or The Hollies, together with his own compositions and songs from his contemporaries. A vocalist and dazzling multi-instrumentalist, Phil is a highly accomplished fiddler and guitarist and also plays mandocello and mandolin.

His songs and music are full of memory and significance and sung in the subtle and melodic Phil Beer-style interjected with musings and amusings. It is a real treat, showcasing past and current favourites from one of the most popular musicians on the acoustic circuit.

Advance tickets are £20.00 and are available from the Wesley Centre reception on 01709 811118 or online (with a booking fee) at www.wegottickets.com.
