THE HOUSEMARTINS ORIGINAL MEMBER TED KEYS & his band THE VIPS
Its Happy Hour again!
Original founding member of The Housemartins, returns to the stage with his band The VIPs to perform music inspired by the era that produced ‘London 0 Hull 4’, one of the most important debut albums of the UK indie movement.
Released in June 1986, ‘London 0 Hull 4’ delivered Happy Hour, Flag Day, Think for a Minute and Sheep, helping define British indie pop with jangly guitars, sharp songwriting and social bite.
This is not a tribute — this is one of the musicians who helped build the band from the ground up, performing those songs up close at Trinity Arts Centre, marking 41 years since The Housemartins signed their record deal. This performance celebrates the origins of one of Britain’s most influential indie bands, led by Ted Key, one of The Housemartins’ original and founding members.
