Enjoy medieval music, songs and stories from the 14th-century Luttrell Psalter performed by de Mowbray’s Musicke.
The event takes place at St Andrew’s United Church, Kirton in Lindsey, DN21 4PJ, on Saturday 23rd May. A pre-concert talk will be held from 6.15pm to 6.45pm, with the concert beginning at 7.00pm.
Tickets cost £15.00, or £10.00 for Kirton in Lindsey Society members, and include light refreshments.

Come on a musical journey back to medieval England. De Mowbray’s Musicke is a specialist group of musicians and dancers who combine historical knowledge and musical skill with a lively sense of entertainment.
During the evening you will see and hear 17 different medieval musical instruments being played, listen to traditional songs and even have the opportunity to join in. The performance also includes one of the earliest known English dances, presented by the musicians in full medieval costume.
The programme explores the life and estates of Sir Geoffrey Luttrell, who lived in Lincolnshire during the 13th and 14th centuries. He commissioned the Luttrell Psalter, a beautiful book of prayers and psalms that has been described as one of England’s most significant medieval manuscripts.
The original manuscript is held in the British Library, but during the interval visitors will be able to view the group’s own folio copy of the psalter, as well as see the instruments close up and learn how they were made and used. Across its more than 600 pages, the manuscript features many scenes of medieval life illustrated in the margins.
The psalter includes images of 17 different musical instruments, all of which will be demonstrated during the concert by de Mowbray’s Musicke.
