Another one of Rui’s books is due to be published very soon – ‘Pawsome Adventures of Reema and Rui ©: Tails of Livernose mischief and loyalty to the very end’. This is the true story about two dogs that initially did not get on, but over a period of time, a bond builds between them, a bond based on love, loyalty and commitment until one passes away.
Rui, a rescue dog, is living the dream of a single life with his mummy, always spoiled rotten and the centre of attention. Imagine his shock when a big and bouncy eight-month-old adolescent unsocialised and untrained dog called Reema arrives to stay. Try as he might with his endless sulks and eye rolling, the new arrival is not taking the hint that Rui doesn’t want to share his space. Over time a bond forms between them.
Sadly, Reema becomes very sick, and Rui and his mummy pull out all the stops to save her, Rui never leaves her side and even offers her his favourite crunchy biscuits and writes out a new list of all the things that he likes about her. When Reema passes away in mummy’s arms, Rui is right by her side, and he is utterly bereft.
This book is for children so they understand that animals have emotions and feelings and they build relationships and do grieve when they lose a companion. Its release date is still to be confirmed.
