Free family puppet show and workshop comes to Clipstone
When: Wednesday 28th October, 10am – 12pm
Where: Clipstone Village Hall, Church Road, Clipstone, NG21 9DF
Looking for something creative to enjoy with the family this half-term? Children aged six and over are invited to discover the magical world of puppetry with Anansi and the Lost Sun, a free, fun-filled show inspired by traditional West African tales.
Presented by Swallow’s Wings Puppetry, the lively performance combines music, storytelling and colourful characters as Anansi the spider and his animal friends try to bring light back to a world plunged into darkness. Will the powerful eagle, clever monkey or resourceful Anansi save the day?
The adventure doesn’t end when the curtain falls. After the show, children can join a hands-on workshop led by an artist, where they’ll create their own puppet, learn how to bring it to life and take it home to continue the story.
The performance is BSL interpreted, offering more families the opportunity to enjoy this imaginative experience together.
Led by artist and puppeteer Carolene Yawa Ada, Swallow’s Wings Puppetry uses storytelling, music and creativity to bring people together and celebrate different cultures and communities.
The event is brought to Clipstone by Open Doors and City Arts (Nottingham).
Entry is free, but booking is essential. Tickets must be booked for every child and adult attending. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Please arrive 15 minutes before the start.
A wonderful opportunity to spark young imaginations, make something special and enjoy a memorable half-term activity together.
