It’s On, It’s Off!
Dukeries Theatre Group presents It’s On, It’s Off!, a comedy of family secrets, unexpected visitors and wedding-day drama.
Daphne and Gerald are a typical couple with grown up children, son Robert who is married to Pauline and their daughter Tina, who is engaged, and about to be married to Trevor. Daphne, like most mothers of the bride, is trying make sure everything will go smooth for the pre-wedding dinner at which Trevor’s parents from abroad are attending.
Things start to go array when their son, Robert, telephones with bad news which causes plans to be altered. Then Tina, the bride to be, enters clearly upset and it transpires the wedding could be off.
Things take an even more interesting turn when a young woman called Monica comes to the house asking for Trevor! As you can imagine, thing get tense and heated and some “truths” come to light.
The evening moves on when Angela, Trevor’s mother has arrived much to the surprise of Gerald when it appears she is an old “flame” of almost thirty years previously. During the evening, as more alcohol drunk, things are revealed about Trevor that would be problematic.
So, with all that in mind, you must ask one question about the wedding, Is It On, or Is It Off?
