Ryton Chorale will present a light-hearted summer concert at Worksop Priory on Saturday 11th July at 7.30pm.
The programme will focus on folk songs and will feature Cecilia McDowall’s A Fancy of Folksongs, a suite of four well-loved English folk songs arranged with a contemporary twist. The pieces explore themes of love and courtship, from the gentle lyricism of Green Bushes to the witty and rhythmic O No John.
The choir will also perform selections from John Rutter’s The Sprig of Thyme, conducted by a guest conductor. Joining the concert once again will be the Retford u3a Recorder Ensemble, who will perform their own pieces as well as several combined performances with the choir.
