This exhibition showcases a selection of cine equipment designed for the home-movie market. Highlights include a range of cine cameras, among them the iconic 1920s Baby Pathé, along with projectors and accessories. The display also features programmes from local cinemas and the original ticket machine from the Regal, Worksop. Together, these objects evoke memories of cinema-going and home film-making, offering a nostalgic look back at earlier technologies and a striking contrast with today’s digital world of film.

There is still time to discover a striking array of garments from the museum’s costume collection. Highlights include dazzling 1920s party dresses that have recently undergone conservation treatment.
Creative Visions – an exhibition by the Worksop Society of Artists
This exhibition runs from Saturday 14th February to Saturday 2nd May
Visitors can discover an eclectic collection of artwork spanning a wide spectrum of media and genres. Founded in 1944, the Worksop Society of Artists has encouraged creativity in the community for over 80 years, offering a warm and welcoming space for artists of all abilities. Members meet every Monday at Worksop Cricket Club, which provides an ideal working environment. Visitors are welcome to drop in at any time between 10.00am and 3.00pm.
Alongside open studio time, the society offers artist demonstrations, hands-on workshops and group outings, all optional. New members are warmly invited to visit and experience how creativity in a supportive atmosphere can enhance personal wellbeing.

Friends of Bassetlaw Museum and History Wardrobe present an exciting evening showcasing original garments and accessories. Lucy and Meredith of History Wardrobe invite audiences to escape into the golden age of cinema, exploring sensational styles and stories from behind the camera, before revealing their own show-stopping transformation.

Bassetlaw Museum is located at 40 Grove Street, Retford. The museum is open Monday to Saturday during school holidays, and during term time it opens on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 10.00am to 4.45pm. The museum is closed on Sundays, Christmas Day and Bank Holidays.
