Come join the music!

Anyone looking for a place to laugh, strum, and spend a couple of hours with friendly people is warmly invited to join Bramley Ukulele Group – or, as the locals affectionately call them, the BUGs. Whether you have just bought your first ukulele and can barely tune it, or you have been playing for years and fancy a new place to jam, the BUGs welcome every level of player. There is no audition, no pressure and no ego – just good music, good company and the simple joy of learning something fun alongside others who enjoy it too.

Every Thursday morning, from 10.00am to 12.00pm, the group meets at Bill Chafer Youth Centre, Flash Lane, Bramley for relaxed strumming, friendly conversation and an impressively varied range of songs. One moment it might be a Beatles classic, the next it could be Disney, folk, country or even a bit of rock. If it has chords, they will give it a try.

The BUGs have grown into a little community of their own – a place where retirees, parents, students, workers on a day off and complete beginners all find a shared rhythm. You do not need to read music or have experience, and you do not even need confidence – they will happily lend you that until you grow your own.
Anyone looking for a hobby that is uplifting, welcoming and guaranteed to bring a little extra happiness into the week is encouraged to come along and see what all the buzz is about.
