There is still time to support Rotherham’s own Christmas Toy Appeal. Purchase a gift and hand it into any shop at Parkgate Shopping or take a tag from the giving trees at Parkgate Shopping, purchase a gift and hand it in to any shop. The elves collect from the shops and take to the grotto ready to be packed and given to professionals making the request. Many schools, businesses and churches are supporting the Appeal again this year, providing drop off points for generous donations so keep a look out for these.
Behind the scenes the elves from charity Families First work extremely hard and give their time voluntarily each year to make sure no child goes without a gift to open on Christmas morning. Ann Levick, the Appeal’s organiser, said: “The need never goes away, it increases year by year, and with your help we can continue put a smile on a child’s face on Christmas morning and let them know that someone cares.”
If you want to get involved or just want to know more then please contact Ann on 07568 396113 or email ann.familiesfirst@gmail.com.
