Ryton Chorale is completing its final rehearsals ahead of the concert at Worksop Town Hall on Saturday 15th November at 7.30pm. The programme will feature Canadian composer Sarah Quartel’s Snow Angel, alongside selected European sacred pieces including works by Bach and Mozart.
Snow Angel is a modern and evocative five-movement choral work exploring themes of love, beauty and rebirth through the eyes of children and the heavenly army of angels who watch over them. The concert will also feature a guest cellist. Tickets are £12.00, with free admission for accompanied children under 16, and are available from choir members or via http://www.rytonchorale.org.uk.
The Christmas concert will take place on Monday 15th December at St Anne’s Church on Newcastle Avenue and will feature a traditional programme of readings and carols. Tickets will be available from choir members or through the website, where further details can be found. Ryton Chorale always welcomes new members across all voice parts. No audition is required, but the ability to hold your part and some sight-reading skill is beneficial. Practice aids are available to help members learn pieces, and support is always provided.
The choir meets every Monday evening at Holy Family School on Netherton Road. For more information, visit http://www.rytonchorale.org.uk.
