Worksop Archaeological and Local History Society’s autumn and winter programme began in October, following the Annual General Meeting in September, during which the Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary delivered their
annual reports and a new committee was elected. It was also agreed that there would be a small increase in the annual subscription fee for membership. The first talk of the new season took place on Thursday 23rd October at The Poplars Church (formerly The Golden Ball), Victoria Square, at 7.30pm. The speaker, Emily Gillott, provided an informative update on recent developments in Nottinghamshire archaeology. Car parking is available at the rear of the venue for members. New members and visitors with an interest in local history are always welcome. Annual membership costs £10.00, and meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of each
month. Visitors are welcome to attend individual meetings for £5.00 per visit.

Please note that after the October meeting, sessions will move to the afternoon for the next four meetings, starting at 2.30pm.
