Perfect weather made the afternoon tea in Inner Wheel Club of Retford President Dot’s garden a delightful experience, with delicious cakes, refreshing teas and excellent company. The event was a fundraiser for Bassetlaw Hospice, which is Dot’s chosen charity for her year in office.
At a previous meeting, members welcomed Bonney, CEO of Bassetlaw Hospice, who gave an interesting and informative talk about the hospice and its work, which is to become self-supporting from this November. The club also ran a stall at the Scrooby Show, once again raising funds for the hospice.
The October meeting will mark the club’s 80th Charter (birthday) celebration, with a lunch on Thursday 16th October at Ye Olde Bell. Anyone interested in joining the event is invited to email retfordiwc@gmail.com.
