Now in its 13th year, Worksop Wonders WI is going from strength to strength. It is a friendly, welcoming group of more than 55 women, representing a wide age range and variety of interests.
They meet monthly at the Poplar Church (Golden Ball), Worksop, on the second Wednesday of each month at 7.00pm. Meetings usually feature a guest speaker covering a broad range of topics. So far this year, they have enjoyed fascinating talks on Bess of Hardwick, life in the RAF, and chocolate making.
There are also monthly sub-groups, including a craft club, a book club, and the very popular Meet and Eat group, which visits a wide variety of cafés and restaurants in the area for meals and get-togethers. In the process, many new eateries have been discovered and revisited.
