The Rotherham 10k returns

This year sees the much-awaited return of the Rotherham 10k. The event has secured a new location and will take place at the stunning Wentworth Woodhouse estate on Sunday 5th October, 9.30am. New headline sponsors, Places Leisure, are working to make the race more successful than ever before and runners will benefit from chip timing, water stations and plenty of encouragement along the way. The scenic and well-supported route offers a memorable experience for runners of all abilities and proceeds from the event will once again be donated to Age UK Rotherham to help older people in Rotherham. Starting and finishing in front of the big house, the route offers a mixture of fast flat sections and gentle inclines on a one lap measured and certified course. Get your running shoes out and find out how to enter at www.ageuk.org.uk/rotherham/activities-and-events/rotherham-10k-2025/.\

The charity and organisers are appealing for runners to enter and get sponsored for the event, so whether it’s your very first 10k, or you’re a seasoned runner chasing a new personal best, you can add to your race experience by raising money for a worthwhile charity. Everything you raise will go towards helping older people in Rotherham.\

There’s also a Corporate Team Challenge, with the top corporate teams winning a trophy to take back to their workplace. It’s a fabulous opportunity to do some team building and non-runners can help by volunteering on the day too.

Barbara Dinsdale, CEO of Age UK Rotherham, said “We love being a part of the Rotherham 10k, it’s a great community event and the new location is going to make it a memorable day for everyone. We’re very grateful to once again be the beneficiary charity and the funds raised will help older people in Rotherham.” As well as runners, volunteers are needed to give a hand on the day, so if you can spare a few hours to help at this inspiring event, get in touch for more details by emailing Denise Caldecott at denise.caldecott@ageukrotherham.org.
