Winthrop was pleased to welcome members of the Ravenfield Art Group to take advantage of the lovely summer weather and do some painting in the gardens. Anna Chester, Winthrop Organiser, said: “It was wonderful to welcome this small group of artists to Winthrop. They came for lunch and then settled down to the serious business of capturing the beauty of Winthrop on canvas! It was a perfect English summer afternoon and a real treat for customers and volunteers alike to see these very talented individuals at work. “We’re looking forward to welcoming them back in the first week in September for them to share their paintings of our lovely gardens in a small exhibition which we’d encourage everyone to come and see!”
It is set to really show off local talent in beautiful surroundings. Julie Warne, co-founder of the Ravenfield Art Group, added: “Members of our group were very appreciative of the very warm welcome extended by Winthrop and for the opportunity to paint in the lovely gardens. Everyone really enjoyed the session and we are looking forward to the small exhibition we will be staging of our work. The gardens were such an inspiration and I think we will have some lovely work to display.”
