Nottinghamshire Police invites residents to attend their August Bassetlaw Beat Surgeries. Police beat surgeries offer local communities the chance to meet their Neighbourhood Policing Teams. These informal drop-in sessions allow attendees to discuss concerns, access crime prevention advice, and speak about any issues affecting their area. No booking is required – residents are welcome to drop in during the stated times. Upcoming Beat Surgeries in Worksop and West Bassetlaw:

  • Carlton in Lindrick, Civic Centre – Thursday 14th August, 5.00pm to 7.00pm
  • Langold Village Hall – Thursday 21st August, 6.00pm to 7.30pm

Free cycle security marking

Bassetlaw Neighbourhood Policing Team is again offering free bicycle security marking to members of the public.
In 2024, the team marked more than 120 bikes at six events across Bassetlaw, registering them on the National Bike Register Database. This database is used by all UK police forces to help reunite stolen and recovered bikes with their owners. Each bike will be marked with a unique tamper-proof sticker and registered with the owner’s details, make, model, and other relevant information. The process is free and acts as a theft deterrent, making bikes less appealing to steal and harder to resell. All pedal cycles and electrically assisted e-bikes are eligible. Residents are encouraged to follow Nottinghamshire Police on social media or check Worksop Life for details of upcoming events. The third cycle marking event will take place at Welbeck Garden Centre on the A60 Mansfield Road, on Sunday 27th July, from 10.00am to 2.00pm. A fourth event is scheduled for Sunday 24th August, at Manor Farm in Oldcotes.
