The Patient Participation Group (PPG) at Newgate Medical Group is made up of registered patients who meet quarterly within the practice. The group aims to provide a voice for patients and to help influence best practice as services continue to evolve in response to changing healthcare needs.
At the recent Annual General Meeting, held on Thursday 22nd May at Newgate Medical Centre, the Chair outlined that the group is currently looking to increase its membership. New and long-standing Newgate patients alike are welcome to get involved.
The PPG is in the process of registering with the National Association for Patient Participation, which will help the group access useful information and support as they continue to work effectively alongside Newgate Medical Group in the interests of patients.
A general information noticeboard for the PPG is located within the surgery, and the group is also developing further communication links for patients.
With the new medical centre build progressing, this is an exciting time for both staff and patients to have a voice in shaping future services and supporting the practice’s aim of creating a multi-functional healthcare hub.
Those interested in joining the PPG are invited to leave their contact details with the main reception desk.
