This September, the Rotherham Repertory Company will bring Willy Russell’s classic play Educating Rita to life on stage, running from Tuesday 16th to Friday 19th September at the renowned Rotherham Civic Theatre. The production will star Richard Wilshaw as Frank and Leah Grayson as Rita, delivering a captivating performance that promises to both entertain and move audiences.
Educating Rita is a timeless tale of personal growth and change. It follows the journey of Rita, a spirited hairdresser who enrols on an Open University course in search of a life beyond the confines of her working-class roots. As her journey unfolds, Rita’s life becomes entangled with that of her tutor, Frank – an alcoholic academic grappling with his own disillusionment.
