Elmton Open Gardens

by | 6 June 2025 | Community Event, Gardening Club, Worksop

The enthusiastic gardeners of Elmton will once again be opening their gates for the National Garden Scheme on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th June, from 1.00pm.

Six gardens will be open, offering a variety of styles – from charming cottage gardens to more expansive, country-style layouts – ensuring there is something to inspire every visitor.

In addition to the gardens, there will be a well dressing display opposite Elm Tree Farm, with a brass band performing on Saturday afternoon. A local history exhibition will also be available to view at St Peter’s Church.
Admission to all six gardens is just £6.00. Children go free, and dogs on leads are welcome.

Cream teas will be served at the Old School Room next to the church, raising funds for local charities. Food will also be available all day at the Elm Tree Inn.

A perfect way to enjoy a summer afternoon.

About the National Garden Scheme

The National Garden Scheme offers visitors special access to around 3,500 exceptional private gardens across England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands, raising substantial funds for some of the UK’s most cherished nursing and health charities through admissions, teas and cakes.

Thanks to the generosity of garden owners, volunteers and visitors, more than £74 million has been donated to beneficiary charities. In 2024 alone, over £3.5 million was distributed. Founded in 1927 to support district nurses, the scheme is now the UK’s most significant charitable funder of nursing. Beneficiaries include Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie, Hospice UK and The Queen’s Nursing Institute.
