Pottery and sculpture in the beautiful gardens at the Dovecot Gallery

The first event open to the public this year at the Dovecot Gallery in Styrrup will be the third Mid-Summer Potters’ Market on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd June.

The yard and garden will be completely taken over by market stalls where you can chat with the potters, browse and buy ceramic work. There will be 37 potters taking part this year, showing a wide variety of ways of working with clay. They will also have their own throw-down experience, with potters demonstrating wheel work, and an opportunity to have-a-go yourself at throwing. Go along and get a taste of pottery!

As before, their friends from Doncaster Ukrainian Centre are running the refreshments and there will be plenty of home-made cake on offer. They are pleased to be able to support their fundraising work for humanitarian aid to Ukraine. During 2023 and 2024 The Dovecot raised over £6,000, as well as raising money for Nottinghamshire Mind.

Dovecot Gallery’s first events of 2025 were a series of hands-on, artist-led workshops exploring drawing, printmaking and textile work. There were 100 participants and some terrific results. This series of workshops was funded through the UKSPF ‘Levelling-up’ Fund.

The event takes place from 10.00am to 4.00pm each day and there is free parking at the Village Hall. Find Dovecot Gallery on Main Street, Styrrup DN11 8NB. Find out more at www.dovecotgallery.co.uk.
