BFB Hive volunteers wanted

After opening BFB Hive at the end of last year, a new café, laundrette, and community space based in Manton, the team at BFB Hive is looking for volunteers to help welcome the community.

Set up by Bassetlaw Food Bank, the BFB Hive Café is open Monday to Friday, from 9.30am until 2.30pm, serving breakfast, lunch, lighter bites, as well as coffee and cake. Prices are affordable, and the café can support everyone with access to a hot meal. The Laundrette is available to help anyone without access to a washing machine or tumble dryer, and at a cost of only £2.00 per wash, it is accessible to those struggling with energy bills.

The community rooms also host organisations like Comuspace, who tackle digital exclusions and help people with online forms. These spaces provide a welcoming environment, offering advice and support to those in need, especially as many families continue to struggle with the cost of living.

Volunteers who enjoy chatting to people, cooking, baking, or even washing up are encouraged to get in touch. The team is also looking for individuals who want to learn new skills, fill their time, or add experience to their CV. Volunteering in the community café could be the perfect fit.

Volunteer opportunities at BFB Hive are flexible and always fun. Joining the team means helping support families in Bassetlaw.
