Herringthorpe United Reformed Church, located next to the Stag Pub on Wickersley Road, has recently changed its name to Stag Community Church to better reflect its desire to serve the local community. The church offers a wide range of children’s and youth activities, including a Parent and Toddler Group, Cheeky Chicks, on Monday mornings, a weekly Kids Club for school years 3 to 6, a Youth Club for years 7 to 11, and various Scout and Guide groups.

For adults, the church runs Community Chat on the second Saturday of each month from 10.00am to 12.00pm, offering an opportunity to enjoy a free cuppa and a chat. Additionally, the church hosts Memory Lane Café on the last Wednesday of each month from 1.30pm to 3.30pm. Memory Lane is a dementia-friendly café that is open to everyone, with free refreshments and musical entertainment provided by Lost Chord.

This month, Stag Community Church will be celebrating Easter. Everyone is welcome to join for Good Friday services on Friday 18th April at 7.00pm to reflect on Jesus’ journey to the cross, or on Easter Sunday, Sunday 20th April, at 10.30am to celebrate Jesus’ resurrection.
