The Thurnscoe Male Voice Choir will be performing a concert at St Alban’s Church in Wickersley on Saturday 29th March at 3.00pm. Admission will be by donation on exit, with interval refreshments served in the Barn. Everyone is welcome to attend.
On Mothering Sunday, 30th March, there will be a special service for families at 10.00am, followed by Evening Prayer at 6.00pm.
Fundraising Coffee Mornings have resumed in the Barn on Fridays from 10.00am to 12.00pm, with cakes and drinks available for everyone. Another Fundraising Evening will be held on Wednesday 2nd April in the Barn Church Hall at 7.00pm. The speaker will be Wayne Ashton, a retired teacher and Methodist minister, with funds raised for the new heating system in the church. On Palm Sunday, 13th April, there will be three services as usual, celebrating the events of Holy Week. On Maundy Thursday, 17th April, a Communion Service will be held at 7.00pm. On Good Friday, 18th April, there will be an All Age Service at 10.00am, followed by a Walk of Witness at 11.00am. The church choir will also perform Olivet to Calvary at 6.00pm.
On Easter Day, Sunday 20th April, there will be special services of celebration.
A Marriage-themed Flower Festival will be held in the church on the weekend of 26th and 27th April. Visitors are welcome to see the floral displays and enjoy a slide show of photographs and wedding memorabilia, with refreshments available. The weekend will conclude with a special Sunday service at 6.00pm.
