Spotlight on Digital Volunteers (project champions)
Rotherfed currently have nine digital volunteers who run sessions across Rotherham. Their approach has been to offer a variety of ways for residents to be supported to get online. This could be through sessions they have organised with groups, drop-in sessions at neighbourhood centres and libraries on a regular basis or a more tailored 1-2-1 support. The positive impact this has had on residents has been increased confidence in using their devices and accessing online platforms to self-serve, therefore feeling more empowered and independent. The emergence of social interactions and new friendships forming has been recorded by all volunteers too.
