The last meeting of the Worksop Archaeological and Local History Society took place on Thursday 28th November, featuring Benedict Jephcote as the speaker. He delivered a fascinating talk on Medieval Worksop, which captivated the majority of attendees. Benedict’s extensive research, including the examination of many old documents, revealed new and intriguing information on the topic.

There will be no meeting in December. The first meeting of the New Year will be held on Thursday 23rd January at 2.30pm, with Ian Morgan as the speaker. His topic, ‘Footpads, Kings and Highwaymen’, promises to be most intriguing.

Meetings are held at The Poplars Church (formerly the Golden Ball), where parking is available at the rear of the premises for members.

New members and visitors interested in local history are warmly welcomed. Membership costs £6.00 per year, while visitors can attend for £4.00 per meeting. Winter meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of the month at 2.30pm.
