The Wickersley Neighbourhood Group (WING) is a social group designed for elderly or isolated individuals in the Wickersley area. Meetings are held during term time, with the first gathering of the New Year scheduled for Wednesday 8th January, 1.30pm to 3.30pm, in the Barn Church Hall, Church Lane, Wickersley S66 1ES.
Activities and entertainment at the meetings vary, including musical performances, talks, shared meals, bingo, beetle drives, and quizzes. Refreshments are served at both the start and end of every session.
New members can arrange for lifts to and from the Barn by contacting the secretary, Anne Hudson, on 01709 542873.
Anne would also welcome offers of voluntary assistance from young or retired individuals willing to help run activities or join a rota as Community Bus Escorts, ensuring members can travel safely to and from the Barn on Wednesdays.
