On Sunday 1st December, there will be special services at St Alban’s Church, Wickersley to mark the beginning of Advent. A Christingle service will take place at 4.00pm, during which children will be provided with a Christingle Orange and a candle, celebrating Jesus as the Light of the World.
Friday Coffee Mornings will continue on 6th and 13th December in the Barn from 10.00am to 12.00pm, raising funds for the new church heating system. The Toy Giving Service is scheduled for Sunday 8th December, at 10.45am, inviting the congregation to bring toys or gifts for babies, children, or teenagers. These donations will be passed to the Rotherham Social Services team, who will deliver them to needy families in the borough in time for Christmas.
A Christmas Bonanza Event, featuring stalls and carol singing, will be held on Saturday 21st December, from 12.30pm to 4.00pm. The big Carol Service (Nine Lessons and Carols) for everyone will take place on Sunday 22nd December, at 6.00pm, with a Children’s Carol Service at 3.00pm on Christmas Eve and ‘Midnight’ Communion starting at 11.15pm.
