Military veteran Gareth Stanton, and non-profit organisation Trojan Wellbeing, are hoping to set up a workshop in Rotherham to help ex-service personnel who are struggling with their mental health.
Trojan Wellbeing offer the following for serving or veterans from the Blue Light, Military and NHS communities:

  • Peer support – misconduct / ill health retirement / neurodiversity, Regional Hubs and activities such as martial arts / photography / camping / model making
  • Access to counselling / therapy
  • Weekend and day workshops – offering peer support, talks and information sharing.
  • MHFA training
  • Outdoor events – walking, motorcycles, fishing and even metal detecting
  • Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

They are currently building a network of Trojan Wellbeing Welfare Officers around the UK. Having experienced the transition from a policing career into civvy street, Gareth knows only too well the impact it has on your health. Trojan Wellbeing are keen to work with charities in helping to combat loneliness, which is a major contributing factor to poor mental health. Welfare Officers not only provide access to the peer support and professional services available, they can offer financial support too.

By providing support to the ‘Service Family’ community, they are proud to be reducing loneliness and anxiety and therefore improving quality of life for a large number.
