Rob Barron, a member of Dronfield and District u3a, recently visited Worksop and District u3a to deliver a presentation about his travels and experiences in North Korea.
As most members knew very little about the country, it was fascinating to learn about Korean culture, the division of North and South Korea, and what life is like in the North under the dictatorship of Kim Jong Un. Rob’s talk included photographs of the places he visited, along with many amusing and occasionally shocking anecdotes.
It was an interesting and thought-provoking afternoon for the members.
The next meeting will be held on Thursday 19th September. The speaker will be Ruth Massey, with her talk ‘The Life and Works of Southwell Minster’. The meeting will take place at Carlton in Lindrick Civic Centre.
Teas and coffee will be served from 1.45pm, with the talk starting at 2.15pm.
