Welbeck Estates and Worksop Brass Bands are proud to present their concert ‘Old and New’.
The first half will feature new compositions for brass band by local composers: Jeff Shaw, Ian Bevill and Neil Jones.
Welbeck March is written by former musical director of Welbeck Band Jeff Shaw. Jeff is now principal percussionist with Rolls Royce Derby Band.
Eventide is especially written for Worksop and Welbeck Bands by local organist and composer Ian Bevill. Ian has performed all over the UK and Canada on some of the finest organs, including at The Royal Albert Hall.
The first half will also include music written by local songwriter Neil Jones. Neil’s music has been performed by local school choirs on national TV and radio and his musicals for children are regularly performed by schools throughout UK. The first half will finish with a new suite for brass bands written by Neil entitled The Creswell Crags Suite – five movements depicting the life of a hunter / gatherer tribe that visited the crags in ancient times.
The second half will consist of a selection of brass band classics. The concert will take place on the meadow at Creswell Crags on Saturday 20th July at 6.00pm. For further information contact 07553 728515.
