In June three Worksop friends – Mike Hodgson, Steve Hunter and Nigel Butler – will be taking on the challenge of cycling from Lands’ End to John o’ Groats (LEJOG) in support of AMMF, the cholangiocarcinoma charity.
Cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer), although relatively rare, sadly has a life expectancy of only a few months. The AMMF charity is trying to find new drugs and therapies and run clinical trials to find a cure.
Mike, Steve, and Nigel have been inspired to take on this challenge by the devastating loss of Steve’s wife Julie who was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma and sadly passed away nine months later following a courageous fight. Steve and Julie were keen cyclists and had planned to do LEJOG as a cycling holiday but sadly Julie never realised this ambition.
The three local men therefore plan to cycle in Julie’s memory and hope to raise vital funds to help AMMF. Any support from local people or local businesses would be hugely appreciated by the three guys and, of course, AMMF. To donate visit the JustGiving website and search LEJOG23.
