You may or may not be aware, but there are proposed plans to build over 1,000 new homes at the Peaks Hill Farm area of Worksop. This is in addition to the significant development sites in Gateford, Shireoaks, Rhodesia, Manton, Carlton-in-Lindrick, Langold and Costhorpe.

“This new proposed site would mean development on a thriving ecological area and further erosion of our beautiful countryside. A number of these developments remain with housing unoccupied in addition to that which is already uninhabited in the Bassetlaw area. Our existing infrastructure is already stretched (roads, local services etc) – plans for this have already changed, for example at the edge development in Worksop initial plans saw traffic calming measures such as mini-roundabouts and filter lanes: these have already changed and are no longer happening. This development sits at the ‘top’ of the Thievesdale estate but sits within the Carlton-in-Lindrick boundary and will have a new collector road dissecting from Blyth Road to Carlton Road.
“Local residents of Worksop and Carlton-in-Lindrick have been campaigning and raising awareness of this development locally. A Facebook group has been established for anyone who is wishing to join and find out more about this (please search for Residents Against Peaks Hill Farm, Thievesdale Development).
“Please share this information with your friends and family, particularly those who do not have access to the internet (much of the awareness raised about the planning development has been online which some local residents do not have access to).
