Greenwood Riding for the Disabled

Greenwood Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) would like to give a huge ‘thank you’ to the Yorkshire Building Society (YBS) Charitable Foundation, which has awarded them with a grant of £1,614. This award has been an incredible boost to morale in these challenging times. All volunteers and riders are looking forward to acquiring the equipment which will make life easier and brighten up arena sessions, as well as enabling the coaches to introduce the simple maths element requested by teachers, but in a fun context. The group extends a warm ‘thank you’ to YBS and to the anonymous supporter who nominated them for this award.

Congratulations to Coach-in-Training Tammy Bevan, who has now completed her training and passed her assessment as a fully qualified RDA Group Coach – exciting and fulfilling times ahead.

In other exciting news, Woodside Farm Stables RDA has completed the change in its legal status to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation under the name of Greenwood RDA, registered with the Charity Commission number 1195708. This will establish a secure base for future development. The Trustees are looking forward to a bright future at Eastfield Farm in Clipstone and want to encourage new recruits to the management team, as well as more volunteers to help support the growing need.

The Charity has a long waiting list and can only help those disabled young people eager to start horse-riding if there are enough volunteers to maintain safety standards. For more information, please contact the Charity Secretary on 01623 627974 or email studley@waitrose.com.
