Rotherham Sitwell Rotary hosted its Charity Night recently, when members met representatives of some of the charities the Club is supporting. The charity representatives present were Jonathan Allan and Jamie Noble of Rotherham United Community Sports Trust, Rotarian Tom Knight from Shiloh, Rotarian Trish Lister from Start a Heart 24:7 and Ruth Carr from Rotherham Cancer Care.
On the same evening, the Mayor of Rotherham Jenny Andrews was re-inducted as an Honorary Member of Sitwell Rotary. Also present was the Mayoress of Rotherham Jeanette Mallinder.
This year President Steve Burns decided to host his President’s Party as a Burns Night Supper at Sitwell Park Golf Club on 28th January. This was an enjoyable evening with a good attendance of members and guests, including the Mayor and Mayoress of Rotherham. In the traditional manner, the haggis was piped in and attendees were treated to recitals of Robert Burns’ poetry.
