On Saturday 20th November the mobile Santa float came to Wickersley and joined in the celebration of the Wickersley lights switch-on. It was a very enjoyable evening, both for the Rotherham Sitwell Rotary Club and for the children who queued to see Santa and have their photos taken with him. Santa was also giving out presents, which was a new venture for the Club. As a result, an excellent collection was raised for charity. Well done to all those who took part in the event.

Santa’s sleigh also went to Firbeck for the switch-on of their Christmas lights. Once again, people were very generous with their contributions for the Club’s chosen charities.

On 25th November President Steve Burns attended the opening of Rotherham Minster’s Social Supermarket in their new premises on Corporation Street. Apart from the Club’s work in supporting the Social Supermarket during the pandemic, Rotarian Martin Davis has been instrumental in helping them to find alternative larger premises away from the Minster.
